OLGA KARPEISKY was born in Russia and moved to Colorado from Moscow in 1993. While in Russia, Olga earned M.S. in chemistry and B.A. in linguistics. After moving to the United States she began her career in Fine Art by studying with the most distinguished artists in the United States. She says it was David Leffel who taught her the foundations, guided through the first approaches to the painting process and contributed to the major vector of her development as an artist. Olga is primarily known for her oil paintings of still life and portraits. Her painting style took form through reminiscence of old masters, later blended with Russian Impressionism and then, after time and experimentation, resulted in her present works. All her paintings are searching for beauty, peace, joy and harmony.

Her paintings have received awards at numerous competitions including Royal Brush Award at 78th Grand National Exhibition in New York. She was an invited artist at the Florence Biennale in Italy. Her work has been exhibited at numerous group shows, including Spaso House (US Ambassador’s Residence in Moscow), Russia, Russian Embassy and Russian Cultural Center in Washington DC, Mizel Museum and Madden Museum in Denver CO, the United States District Court of Maryland, Greenbelt, MD, to name a few. Paintings by Olga Karpeisky grace municipal buildings and bought for private collections all over the USA and abroad.

Olga Karpeisky wrote a book “Seen Thoughts” that was published in 2020. It is illustrated with hundreds of her paintings and includes biographic essay and lyrics.

Artist Statement: “Everyone can understand beauty. It descends on us in different ways. But there is something that appeals to everybody – it is the Life given to us. It could be bright and full of joy, or could feel abandoned and lonesome. Sometimes in the sequence of fast racing events we notice the divine moment of spiritual peace and harmony and we want to prolong it. To find inspiration in things of everyday life that appeal to the senses, to capture the stillness of the moment and than to describe it as a beautiful theme to a viewer – that’s my goal. I try to achieve this through rhythmic, dynamic and balanced composition, wrapped into the movement of light through the volume of space. “
