Amy Evans has been creating ever since she colored with crayons on her bedroom wall while she was supposed to be napping. She studied art from an early age after her elementary teachers encouraged her. After a degree in Fine Art and a professional career in fiber arts Amy returned to her first love..painting. She has studied at the Denver Art Students League as well as with other top artists including Kevin MacPherson, Albert Handell, and Doug Dawson.

Amy continues to paint in oils and can often be found painting outdoors. Her studies often become larger paintings and have been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the US. Collectors have remarked that her paintings do not shout at you. They bring a sense of calm into a space.

Amy often remarks that she loves to paint anything as long as it stays still.Her more recent challenge is painting pets. She loves capturing their souls in paint through closely working with their humans on commissions.

Amy also teaches art workshops nationwide as well as private lessons, believing that we can all benefit from art. She has also served as a juror for national art shows.

Amy is currently Co-President of Women Artists of the West, a national juried organization. Her honors include a Master Signature Emeritus member of Women Artists of the West, a Signature Member of Plein Air Artists of Colorado, Associate member of National Oil and Acrylic Painting Society, and a charter and founding member of the former Piedmont Outdoor Painting Society, based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She has also served on the Breckenridge Public Art Commission.

You can find Amy painting in her beloved mountains as well as on the beaches of Edisto, SC. Amy is a resident of Breckenridge, Colorado.
